Unfortunately our time to answer questions is very limited, so we've tried to answer
the most commonly asked questions on this page. Simply select your question in the

How do I upload a photo of myself
First of all, make sure you have a photo of yourself somewhere on your hard drive. Also
make sure the file type is jpg/jpeg. Then login to your account. Go to your profile
and click on "Edit profile" to the upper right. Now click on the "Browse" button. A new
window will appear where you can browse on your hard drive. Select the image you
want to use as your profile photo and click on "Open". You will now see that the text
field left of "Browse" will contain the path to your image, if not, then something
went wrong. Finally click "Update" to the bottom right and your photo will be uploaded.
If you go back to your profile page (make sure you refresh the page and not just click
back in your browser), there should now be a text under the default photo saying:
"Photo uploaded and waiting for authorization". If there's no text under the default
photo, something went wrong and you need to upload the photo again. After the photo has
been uploaded all you have to do is to wait for the photo to be edited and authorized.
Can you help me find the old communities.com or thepalace.com
We have nothing to do with the old communities.com, thepalace.com or The Palace
Visual Chat. We don't know what happend to them or how they were related.
The best help we can offer you is that you visit the
wayback machine
and investigate further on your own. However, The Palace is still alive and if you have
any questions related to The Palace you should visit them.
I need some kind of registration code
That's somehow related to the old communities.com and The Palace. See "Can you help me find the old

I want to cancel my membership
Just login to your account, click on settings and delete it. Please notice that ALL
your information on the whole site will be deleted and you will not be able to get
it back.
I can't find msn.communities.com/xxx
Notice that this is communities.com, not communities.msn.com.
I can't login for some reason

Communities.com you need to become a member here. If
you're already a member, go to the login problems
section and follow the instructions.
Why can't I vote on someone?
Because you have already voted on that person, or you have the same sex as that person.
We understand that homo- and bisexuals would like to vote (and heterosexuals as well)
on the same sex as themselves but this is just a way to avoid cheating.
Why am I not on the top 10 list?
You have to have at least 20 votes to be on the top members list.
I didn't receive a confirmation e-mail
Go to the login problems section

I can't verify my e-mail address

First of all, you need to have a valid e-mail address. If you have that and have
received our welcome e-mail, all you have to do is to copy-paste the url into
your browser and you should be verified and logged in automatically. If that fails,
it is due to one of the following reasons (these are the only two reasons
why it failed, so make sure you try them both)
You have already verified your e-mail and just have to login to
the right with your nickname and password. You can also go to the
front page and login from there.
Or you didn't copy-paste the whole link in your welcome e-mail.
Someone is harassing me
Use the ignore function to completely ignore a person. That way he/she won't be able to
contact you in any way. If it is something really serious and punishable by law, you
should report it to the police.
Site suggestions / report bugs
Of course Communities.com doesn't contain any bugs, but sometimes even the
best can make mistakes ;) so if you find any, please report them here and we
will try to fix them asap.
About the chat
The chat is also under development and it is far from finished. If you
want to join/create a new chat room, you can type: "/join #room" or simply
"/j #room". To leave it, type: "/leave #room" or "/l #room".
Example: "/j #usa" and the "/l #usa" will first join the chat room "usa"
and then leave the chat room. If the chat room "usa" is empty, it will be
created.

Common questions:
Question: When I start the chat all I see is: "****connecting to www.communities.com".
What do I do then?
Answer: This means that you are behind a firewall. Right now we don't have any firewall
support, but we plan to support that by tunneling the traffic through port 80.
Question: Chatroom freezes, why is that?
Answer: The chat will kick you out if you haven't typed anything for a long time.
Just close the window and login again.
