A topic/thread can be "locked" by a moderator. A moderator in this case is the community owner, community admin, site admin or the original author. After a topic/thread has been locked, no one can reply to it anymore. Moderators can also "unlock" a topic/thread if they want.

A topic/thread can be made "sticky" by a moderator. A moderator in this case is the community owner, community admin or a site admin. When a thread has been made sticky, it will always appear up top, even if someone has posted in another thread more recently. If there are more than one sticky thread in a forum, all sticky threads will be shown first and ordered by last post, then all other non-sticky threads will be shown and ordered by last post.
