Help > Html-tags

To make your text a bit more fun, you can use special HTML-tags. We will add more HTML-tags in the future, but at the moment we support the tags listed below. Please make sure you have an equal amount of start brackets [ and end brackets ] when using the HTML-tags. Also make sure that you end your tags (for those that require it) with [/tag] as shown below, otherwise your text will probably look weird.

[nickname][/nickname]
If you want to make a link to another member here at Communities.com use those tags. Example: [nickname]Nickname[/nickname] will make a link to Nickname's profile.

[member][/member]
If you want to make a photo link to another member here at Communities.com use those tags. Example: [member]Nickname[/member] will show a photo of Nickname with a link to Nickname's profile.

[community][/community]
Use those tags if you want to make a link to a community. Example: [community]Cinemaniacs[/community] will make a link to the Cinemaniacs community.

[a href="link"]Description[/a]
If you want to make a link to another site, you can use the [a href] tag. For example: [a href="http://www.aol.com"]America Online[/a]. Notice that you have to have the "http://" before the adress to link to a site outside of Communities.com.

[br]
This is a very useful tag. It will make an empty row in your text, use it to make your text look better and easier to read.
This will simply make a horizontal line, which can also make your text and place look better.

Set the text to a color of your choice. For example, Will make this text red. If you want to be more specific about the color, you can use the exact rgb values between 0-f. Example: Will make this text purple. Experiment!

[image][/image]
If you want to place a picture somewhere in your description you can use this tag. Example: [image]http://www.mysite.com/mypicture.jpg[/image]. If you want to be a bit more advanced and also want the picture to link to someplace, you can do it like this: [a href="http://www.mysite.com"][image]http://www.mysite.com/mypicture.jpg[/image][/a]. Then people will see mypicture.jpg and when they click on it they will be taken to www.mysite.com.

If you want to center your text or images on the page you can use this tag.

Example: Will make this text bold

Example: Will make this text italic

Example: Will make this text underlined
